SNL’s Downey’s right on then yanked off (Updated)

So now there’s a big conspiracy theory about the out-of-place bailout skit from this past Saturday night’s SNL show.  It’s been yanked from the NBC website.  Hot Air noticed it first, then Michelle did a follow-up — a GREAT follow-up.  Turns out the older couple who bragged that they made $24 B off of subprime loans were real, and they were PISSED!  Check out their associations on Herb Sandler’s wikipedia page.  That explains a lot!

Ace noted this skit was written by Jim Downey (Robert Downey, Jr’s uncle BTW), a long-time writer for SNL, which is probably the only reason this skit saw the light of day.  Jim’s wikipedia page shows he was also the one who wrote the Hillary / Obama debate sketches that showed just how in the tank NBC is for Obama.  HuffPo accused him of being an “Ann Coulter pal” and writing the skit to lift up Clinton so she would win the nomination and make it easier for the Republicans to win in Nov.

Guess you can’t just blame the slimy, racist Republicans for this whole mess, can you Barney?

Update: Looks like someone saved a copy here.

Update II: Fox and Friends is covering the controversy at 7:07 AM CDT.  They’re showing the video, heh, and they credited the blogosphere.

Update III: Once the video is “scrubbed,” NBC says it will re-post it.

Update IV: There’s a great comment from “madmonk” over at Michelle’s page mocking NBC’s need to meet better standards as the reason for scrubbing the skit.

Standard[s]? What standards? They ‘joked’ about incest in the Palin family. So again… what standards?
