Ace has started an insurrection.  Patterico is following suit.  Here’s the gist of Ace’s plan:

1) Donate to 527s hitting this issue [ed: Fannie/Freddie] with TV ads in swing states.

2) Inform the RNC you want them to begin hitting this issue nonstop themselves, even at the expense of pro-McCain ads, and even against his wishes. I’ve got news for you: At this point, due to McCain’s stubbornness, we face a very real chance of losing 50 House seats and even failing to hold on to forty Senate seats, resulting in a Democratic President with a Democratic filibuster-proof Senate. The RNC must hit the Democrats on this issue with every last dime they can raise.

3) Inform McCain that you have donated all money that may have gone to him to 527s willing to fight on this issue, and you’ll donate your free time making calls on behalf of Congressional and Senatorial candidates rather than his ticket.

Number three is meant to scare McCain into hitting the Dems on this issue.  Read both posts.  They’re great. 

Contact McCain.  Tell him what you think.  Tell him he promised to fight for us.  Tell him to hit HARD on:
1. Obama’s socialist tax scheme.

2. The Fannie / Freddie debacle.  McCain needs to be the sheriff that’s going to get the bad guys, because Obama won’t force any real hearings that would put the Dems in danger.

3. Point out that Obama’s Supreme Court justice will MAKE law, not interpret it.

4. Make sure people understand that the same Congress that only has a 9% approval rating will have no one stopping them in the White House with Obama as President.  Is that what people want?

5. Announce a cabinet!  Guiliani for Attorney General, Lieberman for Secretary of Defense, maybe State.  He’ll need a Treasury Secretary (Romney?) and HUD Secretary (could / would Huckabee do it?). He HAS to let people know who he will ask to be the major players on his team, just as long as they are well-vetted.

Go to his website and find out what you can do in your area.  If you’re not in a battleground state, you can always make calls to those areas. 

Start a blog!  Get a sign!  Help spread the message as much as you can!  We HAVE to fight as hard as we can for EVERYTHING — House, Senate, and the White House!
