I don’t see any way that McCain can win now, after FNC has called Ohio and Pennsylvania for Obama. He has already banked 195 EVs with New England and the upper Midwest already called for him. With CA, OR, WA, and HI, which are all solidly Obama, that’s 272 and it’s over. McCain can win FL, VA, and IN, and it won’t matter.
I guess now we’ll have to brace for the upcoming Obama presidency. The FNC talking heads seem to think that the self identifiers in the election, something like 22% lib, 44% moderate, and the rest Conservative, there’s no mandate for Obama to govern from the far left. I don’t believe it.
All I can say is I can’t wait for all the missing videos and interviews and possible affairs to come out now. The media can’t wait to take him down, especially the struggling newspapers. They have their headlines about a historic president that they helped elect. Later, they’ll get their headlines by doing all the legwork they should have done before (or maybe already did and just held).
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing in this interview. The interviewer was twisting what Joe was saying, and Joe was having a little trouble getting his point across. Then, the interviewer can’t believe that Joe wouldn’t want the extra money! After that, it just gets into the weeds when the interviewer starts smearing Joe. Ugh.
I just can’t understand this mindset. Taxes SHOULD be used for bridges and policemen and the military. They shouldn’t be used for the government to just transfer a buck from one guy directly to another. And I don’t understand people who seem to be smart don’t understand that.
Don’t freak out, and don’t celebrate. Democrats are always oversampled, because they are more willing to share their votes. A poll before the vote said so.
DO NOT LET THE RESULTS STOP YOU FROM VOTING. There is more at stake wherever you are than the presidency.
Anyway, they’ve opened up a support thread over at Hot Air, so feel free to share your thoughts or read the comments to calm down.
Hot Air has a great interactive tracking map that has a lot of information available. It’s a great way to track the results. I’m not sure what the AP policy is for calling the races, but I hope it is as stringent as some of the news channels’ criteria I’ve seen.
Update: FoxNews.com has a VERY cool interactive map. It already has some votes up there. I think it is linked directly to the state databases, because I’ve seen the map change while I’ve been looking at it.
Rick Leventhal of FNC reported from a polling location in what looked like an urban area in Philadelphia, PA that two Black Panther members were blocking the door, one of which was holding a night stick. A Republican poll watcher, who showed up after being informed of the intimidation, called the to the police after he was told that “a black man was going to win the election no matter what” and they were tired of “white supremacy.”
The person holding the night stick was removed, but the other Black Panther told Mr. Leventhal that he was causing intimidation by being at the polling place with a microphone and a camera. Lord help this area if McCain does win PA.
Update: Michelle has the transcript and the video up as well as background on the plans for the Black Panthers for today.
Update II: Power Line Blog has details of more voting problemsin PA. Some Republican poll watchers are being turned away. McCain-Palin has announced a voter fraud reporting hotline: 866-976-VOTE.
I’m sorry, but this is scary. If I had to vote there, I would be worried. And what will these people do if Obama loses? This is AMERICA for goodness sakes. We’re supposed to have free, open, and fair elections. Unbelieveable.
Update III: FNC showed the video above. Then they showed video of Rick Leventhal being told by poll workers that he had to be on the sidewalk at that same location. FNC checked the laws, and they were told that they could be within 10 ft. of the entrance.
At the beginning of his latest report, Leventhal made it clear that he knew of no one who had been stopped from voting by the Black Panthers. He tried to interview the Black Panther who is still standing outside about the other one who with the nightstick, and the Black Panther said he didn’t know what Leventhal was talking about. The Black Panther questioned why the media was out taking their pictures and making it look like they were doing something wrong. Gee, I wonder.
Update IV: Video of the police showing up to take away nightstick guy. (H/T: Redstate)
Update V: Here’s the video of Leventhal’s “discussion” with the Black Panther member.
Update VI: Rick Leventhal reports that Malik Shabazz says they don’t have any Black Panther members dispatched in Philadelphia in an official capacity. Shep Smith commented that the Black Panther that Leventhal encountered was just “going rogue.” Yeah.
Philly.com reports that the Black Panthers are “guarding” the polling place. However, the site also reports Republicans are “intimidating” voters by setting up tables and asking for voter names and party affiliation. Hmm. Nightstick vs. table. That table really scares me. A lot. (H/T: Ace)
Karl Rove is reporting on Neil Cavuto’s show that there are more registered voters than adults living in Philadelphia, suggesting that maybe shenanigans are going on inside these voting places (i.e. poll workers filling out ballots and putting them through themselves).
Joe the Plumber’s website is up. It seemed to me that he billed it yesterday on FNC as some sort of charitable organization, but right now, it looks like the only thing there is a way to pre-order his book and join the site (free or paid membership).
The site COULD be promising, and I hope it turns out that way. I don’t begrudge Joe for trying to make a living now that a simple question asked of a politician has caused him to lose his job. However, he’s billed himself as an everyman, and he promises to help other regular “Janes and Joes” get their messages out to help end corruption in D.C. I hope he makes a lot out of that opportunity and stays an everyman.
Update: I saw Joe on “Hannity and Colmes” I think yesterday, and he said the website is supposed to help track the politicians and bring accountability to D.C. If that’s the case, I apologize for misunderstanding the charity thing. More power to you, Joe. This is the kind of activism we need. That’s why many of us bloggers blog. Best of luck.
While discussing the agenda of a likely strengthened Democratic majority in Congress, Chuck Schumer made me laugh with his defense of card check, saying how tragic it was that the union rolls have dropped from 25% to 6% in the country. The only tragedy he sees is the shrinking coffers that the unions have to give to his party.
Anyway, he later said that radio stations needed to be regulated like pornography is regulated. He said it made no sense that Congress would regulate one and not the other. That’s when I just got scared. Hot Air has the video. Funny that the broadcast stations weren’t mentioned. With the leg tingling that Obama has generated, that’s closer to porn than anything Rush or Hannity has said.
This is a REALLY long post, but I found it facinating. The best I can tell is this guy, who lives in or near Houston, was at one time in his life a political analyst. He eventually turned to game reviews (apparently, political analysis doesn’t pay much if you don’t sell your soul to a candidate / party). It looks like he’s made several posts about the election, but this final one is the best.
I don’t know how accurate it is (he calls out several “pollsters” so why can the guy writing the article be trusted), but it seems based in things I’ve been seeing. And some of the things I’ve been wanting to see, of course!
Read it in pieces to break it up throughout the day. It is interesting and will give you some hope.
We’ve all done what we can do – made phone calls, given money, written blogs. The only thing now each of us can do as individuals is vote (if you haven’t already).
And pray. Here’s an inspirational post with a prayer for you, if you choose.
