Vetting the staff
The blogs went crazy after the pick of Sarah Palin, claiming that McCain didn’t properly vet her. Well, the Chief of Staff position is arguably more powerful in terms of presidential access and decision-making than the Vice President. So you would think that Rahm Emanuel would be free of big scandal, right?
JammieWearingFool has a post (by way of Hot Air headlines) explaining otherwise. Along with the fact that his nickname is Rahmbo and he’s considered one of the biggest partisans on the Hill, we’ve recently found out that a) he doesn’t pay his taxes and b) he was on the board of Freddie Mac during the accounting scandal.
I guess, as Jammie surmises, that the (D) DOES have a lot of power. It appears like the kool-aid drinkers will continue to look the other way as he fills the power positions with the same old style of politicians. So much for hope and change!
Update: More over at Hot Air.
