House leadership challenge
All the other House Republican leaders have resigned their posts, so it was odd that John Boehner decided to stay in as the Minority Leader. Many called for Paul Ryan to take the reigns, but Rep. Ryan rejected the suggestion, citing his young family as the reason on an FNC show. Whether that is the real case or just the excuse he had to not be caught in the midst of Republican turmoil and ruin his up-and-coming political career, who’s to say.
But, someone different did step up to the place — Rep. Dan Lundgren from CA. While he isn’t exactly new (he’s been around D.C. and CA politics for a while and he’s 62), he’s different, and maybe that’s all it takes.
