And the White House to the rescue (updated)
After the White House said it would rather not use TARP funds to help out the Big 3, they have done a 180 and “will consider” using the funds at its disposal to bail them out. The treasury has also said it will do what it can to prevent this “iminent failure” from happening. However, Michelle Malkin is linking to an article at The Heritage Foundation which points out using the TARP funds might be illegal to bailout the automakers. Michelle also links to the statement from the White House. According to Hot Air, the Fox Business Channel is reporting the TARP funds are on the way.
I wonder if this was the plan all along. Hmm.
Update: Sen. Corker, the Republican who tried to negotiate last night’s deal, thinks it was the plan, too.
Update II: Lawrence Kudlow from CNBC suggests the the TARP deal is far from done, and that the union might regret not taking the Corker deal. Let’s hope that if TARP is used, that the treasury does give due diligence to the numbers as Kudlow suggests.

Was the TARP money supposed to help the home owner stay in their home. Indy Mac/One West Bank is refusing to help us and they are foreclosing on our house Feb. 9th.
