“Red Eye” disses stay-at-home hubbys
I’m watching my DVR of “Red Eye” while filling out some mystery shopping forms after banishing the little one off to her room to play for a little bit. They did a segment about a blogging mom who was happy her husband was unemployed because of the time he had to fix things and go shopping. Some on the panel bashed her, accusing her of lying about being OK with a man with no job.
As a stay-at-home mom who is planning on trading places with her husband when our little one goes off to school, I’m looking forward to it. I’m a horrible housewife, and entertaining my daughter is exhausting because she’s so bright and gets bored so easily but doesn’t yet like to talk politics. I feel like I’m back in college explaining algebra to my friend who is on her fourth semester of the class (I know — I expect too much
).
I want to eek out every bit of time with her because I know that once I do go back to work in 2 years, I won’t get this kind of time with her again. However, my husband will have it pretty easy when he gets to stay at home with her because she will be at school! It will be nice to have the errands run and someone else worrying about dinner. And I’ll get to be aroud adults again! So, “Red Eye” panel, I’m looking forward to the day my hubby is at home taking care of things, and that’s no lie.
