A GOP awakening?

Despite some rough patches, I think the GOP might be on its way back.  They managed to keep a 0 vote on the stimulus bill in the House and almost the same score in the Senate.  Now, of course, these were minor victories — they lost the vote, and they were seen as obstructionsits because they focused on the pork and not their plan.

Then the Limbaugh / Steele distraction became the focus, and it brought out some problems in the RNC structure.  They don’t have the staff right now to do what they need to do.  And after all the hope his election brought, Steele has been less than successful as a leader.

However, the Republicans in the Senate managed to stop the $410 B spendubus bill from going through last night.  They proposed a spending freeze this morning, to no avail.  But, these are both steps in the right direction.  There’s NO WAY we’re going to win these battles — the Dems have too many votes.

But we can win the War of 2010.  Let the Dems keep voting up these spending plans; let the Dow keep falling; let them be on the hook next year when they are trying to explain why, given the massive majority, they haven’t done a damn thing for the people.  We can come back!  We don’t have much time, and we need to the the RNC’s act together, but we CAN DO IT!
