Las Vegas courthouse shooting video

The federal courthouse building was the site of the shooting of two federal courthouse employees.  One was a courthouse officer and one was a federal marshall.  One of them has died, but FNC is not reporting which one waiting for family notification.  The person responsible was also killed.  More details to come, I’m sure.

Someone who was going in to change his appointment for jury duty (as reported by FNC from talking to the videographer) shot video of the indicent.  The video shows the building, but not much else.  You just hear a lot of gunfire.  (Language warning)

Update: FNC is now reporting that the court officer is the one who died and the federal marshall is in serious condition.  The network also notes this building houses offices for Senators Ensign and Reid.

Update II: The guy who shot the video, Nicholas Gramenos, is on Shepard Smith’s show.  He went to the wrong courthouse, then went to the federal courthouse, to report for jury duty.  He said he was greeted by three “elderly” men, one of which he later learned was the officer shot and killed.  He reported for duty at the location and was rescheduled because he was 15 minutes late.  He left, and he told Shepard that he saw an “incredibly suspicious” person that looked like he might be one of the many homeless that he sees hanging around federal and state buildings.  He says he saw the gunman leave the courthouse and enter the single-story building right across Las Vegas Blvd with the rifle.  That’s when he pulled out his phone to record it.  He says the guy looked like a “typical derelict” with a long trenchcoat on.  He says he actually saw where the guy was while he waited to go into the building, and he sounded almost sad that he had no idea what was going to happen and couldn’t stop it before it happened.

He didn’t say this, but it looks like he was standing at 4th and Lewis while he recorded the video, which appears to be the street just behind the building he saw the gunman flee into (and one block west of the courthouse).  Scary stuff.
